Foundations
Base maps
Base maps provide geographic context for OroraTech data.
The default base map is a topographic map. WFS also provides a satellite and plain base map. Ensure an attribution is displayed for the active base map.
Time series data
Time controls which fire data is visible and how its recency is displayed.
Normalise a recency ramp to the visible time window. The start of the window is the oldest value. The end is the newest value. Draw older hotspots first. Draw newer hotspots above them.
Colour
Shared colours and geometry keep related features consistent across the map.
| Use | Value |
|---|---|
| Selected feature | #04CECF Cyan |
| Casing | #FFFFFF White |
Icons
Icons identify the classification, category, or association state of a mapped feature.
WFS uses Font Awesome for icons. Use the icon specified in the relevant layer section. Use the same icon for the feature and its legend or label.
Labels and legends
Legends and labels explain the data encoded by the map.
Show a map scale using the user's configured distance units. Show a legend when colour, size, or line pattern encodes data. Use the user's configured units in labels and legends where WFS supports unit conversion.
Typography
WFS uses the Google font Figtree with fallbacks to Roboto and sans-serif.
Zoom behaviour
Zoom controls when WFS changes between overview and detailed representations. WFS uses these thresholds.
| Layer or representation | Zoom behaviour |
|---|---|
| Cluster centroids | Below zoom 8. |
| Cluster shapes | Zoom 8 and above. |
| Fire heatmap | Zoom 5 and above. |
| Fire grid | Zoom 8 and above. |
| Hotspot circles | Zoom 10 and above. |
| Hotspot markers | Zoom 10 and above. |
| Integrated-incident centroids | Below zoom 10. |
| Integrated-incident geometry | Zoom 10 and above. |
Interaction behaviour
Interaction states distinguish the feature under the user's pointer or selection.
Use cyan #04CECF for the selected state. WFS shows feature details in a popup or detail
panel.
Layer order
Layer order keeps important fire information visible above contextual information.
Higher Z-index values draw above lower values.
| Content | Z-index |
|---|---|
| Base maps | 0 |
| Fire hazard and other raster layers | 1 |
| Sub-areas | 2 |
| Monitored areas | 3 |
| Assets | 4 |
| Burnt areas | 5 |

Attribution
Attribution identifies the providers of the visible map and data.
- Attribute OroraTech data as ©OroraTech and link to https://ororatech.com/.
- Show the attribution supplied by the active base map and each visible data layer.
- Keep all attribution with published screenshots, reports, and other map exports.
